※ Mitsuhide is a goddamn boss and I’m officially in love with him. Also, this amazing teamwork with Hideyoshi. This was one of my favorite scenes from Sasuke’s route.
Hideyoshi:
「 ……くそっ、斬っても斬っても湧 してきやがる!」
“…Damn it, I keep cutting them down, but they keep coming back!”
Yes Mitsuhide is bad ass in combat! This reminded me of the rescue scene in Ieyasu’s route when they have to save Ieyasu; Mitsuhide was absolutely cool, calm, efficient, potrayed A+ teamwork skills (though he always said he prefer working alone 😒 sneaky bastard)
Tbh what ISN’T brutal in Hide’s route? I thought Hide’s fight scene is even bloodier than Kenshin’s (yep, I said it). The reason is Kenshin fights like a god; he kills too effortlessly, too gracefully, to the point the war looks like a walk in the park. While Hideyoshi fights with mundane force, which makes the fight seems to be more violent, for they are all human
They didn’t show Mitsuhide being toture, but they implied so
This is the part where Kyubei, Mitsuhide’s double agent, met Kennyo for the first time and figured that the monk was the one behind the assasinate attemps towards Nobunaga. Kennyo implied that Mitsuhide, being the suspect, was tortured. The story didn’t show torture scenes, but implied so, which is some serious story telling skills. Hideyoshi’s route just getting better and bloodier after each chapter and I don’t even know how they do it
In every route, it’s always been showcased that another warlord is in love with MC, but I think Mitsuhide’s love was written in the most tragic and the most beautiful way.
He is contempt with being her friend, maintaining Prioritizing her happiness over his own. He has rationalized to himself that Hideyoshi is a better fit for her than himself, and that him and MC could never be together, no matter how much he loves her.
Though this similar to when Hideyoshi fell in love with MC in Nobunaga’s route. Something about Mitsuhide makes everything seemingly more tragic. Like he has accepted his fate and knows that he is doomed to play the villain.
The fact that Masamune even encourages Mitsuhide to steal the MC away way interesting. It like he knows Mitsuhide is always playing himself to be the villain, and Masamune wants him to find happiness and wants him to know it doesn’t have to be that way.
Hideyoshi’s route has helped me learn more about Mitsuhide as a character. To know that Mitsuhide has people he loves, things he wants to protect and morals he’s willing to die for. So to me he is less of a villain and more of a tragic hero.
I know it will still be a long while till we get his route but I can’t help but feel like his route is gonna be really emotionally tragic, but Im excited to know more about his character and finally see him get the happy ending he deserve.
Sorry for this messy thought post but honestly, if you weren’t already in love with him like me, his part in Hideyoshi’s route has got to have you feeling at least little something towards him.
I think I have to record everything on his route at this point cuz Hideyoshi route is just so well written. Even better than Ieyasu’s and Masamune’s if I dare say. Chapter 8 was INTENSE I mean look
Hideyoshi held NOTHING back and was brutal as hell, while Mitsuhide was lethal and chillingly eloquent. They were like roaring fire and ice! Even the Mc scared me a bit, girl when did you pick up those interrogating skills? I don’t feel much romance in Hideyoshi’s route but the drama is on point.
I was at chapter 7 of hideyoshi’s route and noticed this very curious detail: mitsuhide made mc drink turpentine? I was like??? Why??? Who drinks turpentine, ever? That sounds like a typical Mitsuhide’s prank. I googled it and got to know that people used to believe that turpentine was antiseptic and used it as medicine. And it hit me: in this chapter, nobunaga, hideyoshi, and mc were ambushed. Mitsuhide had known about that before hand. Could it be that he made her drink it to prevent her getting infection in case she got hurt?
So today I was feeling a bit gloomy about a small incident and decided to read ikesen stories as a diversion. I was around chapter 4-5 of Hideyoshi’s route, where MC patted Hideyoshi’s head, got embarrased and ran straight to Mitsuhide for advice (haha). But funny enough, after finishing the chapter my mood improved a lot! Hideyoshi lighten my heart, Hideyoshi you self-denial, horny bastard 🤣 But it was Mitsuhide the one who took the weight on my chest away. He’s perceptive, objective, and his words reflect a worldly-wise and empathetic personality. And just that, my anxiety melt away. At least now I know that no matter how small my worries are, Mitsuhide will listen and give advice without demeaning my worries, despite having to deal with much graver issues himself
